The Dickson Kateshumbwa I know

By Ass Prof. Mesharch Katusiimeh I have been compelled to come out and write this article because of the negative mudslinging especially targeting Mr. Dickson Kateshumbwa one of the leaders of our generation. For starters, negative mudslinging is the process of deliberate spreading negative information about someone to worsen his public image. Of late in Sheema Municipality, negative mudsling is referred to as “spraying sadoline”. They say: Kateshumbwa is a corrupt man; Kateshumbwa was chased from URA; Kateshumbwa has never done anything good for Sheema, Kateshumbwa has no leadership experience to mention but a few etc. I have been through such mudslinging before for those who follow Sheema politics and I wouldn’t like anyone I know to be unfairly treated and hence the inspiration o

To find a way, you need to acquire (or have) skills in two key areas, which are Persistence and Creativity. To consistently stand out and succeed in whatever you are doing, you need to be able to find a way. Whatever needs doing, find a way to do it.  Nothing is impossible.  Finding a way will always enhance your image. Improve your reputation and  this will ultimately lead you to a more productive and successful life. Finding a way to make a difference and succeed also sometimes means taking a chance. Take a risk - and if you feel that knot in your stomach,  it means you are on the right track to great things. Besides its human nature to be apprehensive about new things.  But go ahead and find a way to be different,  be bold, be daring.If...

Julius Turinawe The fact that you are present does not mean you are valuable. Value is determined not by being present but by making your presence positively significant. If your presence in an organization, home or any other place does not amount to positive significance, then you are not only a waste of space but an obstruction. It means you are seated in a space where someone else could have sat and made positive significance. Every agent of mediocrity is an obstruction to agents of transformation. What determines your significancy in the workplace, homes and other places is a personal choice. No one can do it for you. When you die,who will cry? quite frankly, there is no point in dying if u never lived. The fact that you breathe does not mean you live. The fact th...

Dickson Tumuramye Deshauna contested to become miss USA 6 times in 6 years and she lost all. At the 7th time, she made it for Miss Columbia and 6 months later in June 2016, she was crowned Miss USA, becoming the first USA Soldier to win that title. She says that life is full of nos and less yesses. But if you keep on track and focused, you will make it. Life has alot of set backs and pitfalls. They keep hindering us from reaching our destiny. These set backs picture our future plans and dreams with “you can't make it.” Such voices sound louder in your quite moment than anything else. They paint the life we desire to live with darkness that you cannot easily see any light/hope ahead; i mean success at the end of your planned endevours. Every time you are alone, the devil wil

Bushenyi, allow Minister Karooro to Execute her Ministerial Duties

Zadock Amanyisa On Saturday, 4th January, 2020, the Cabinet Minister in Charge of General Duties in the Office of the Prime Minister, Hon. Mary Karooro Okurut Busingye moved to monitor the ongoing construction of a government Seed School at Kabushaho Secondary School in Igara East, Bushenyi district, where she is reportedly addressed a group of stakeholders including her electorates.  After Karooro's visit, a concerned citizen (name withheld) posted a photo on social media (Whatsup group) thanking the minister for monitoring the project. Hon. Karooro is also a member of the Ninth Parliament representing the Women of Bushenyi. From the look of things, this did not go well with some people, including leaders advancing that the minister's visit was politically motivated. A coun...

Why on earth would wetlands be choking on plastic?

Why on earth would wetlands be choking on plastic?

Zadock Amanyisa I have recently thought far and wide about becoming a voice for God’s silent natural resources including wetlands, which have for long time faced destruction by man, yet they can’t even defend themselves against man’s panga and fire. I stay in a Kyeitembe ward, Bushenyi Ishaka municipality, in the western part of Uganda, where there is a swamp along the road that links to the famous Kabagarame weekly pork market. When you are passing through that swamp, you will see plastic waste in form of bottles and bags dumped in the swamp and its stream. This is so bad! It is saddening to see plastic waste dumped in our wetlands. I have seen other areas choking on plastic waste. Remember, plastic takes more than 400 years to degrade It’s against this background that I hav

Zadock Amanyisa COUNTRYSIDE REPORTS In the Holy Bible, the Word of God spoken unto us, his creatures, David, a great Psalmist writes that The Earth is the Lord’s. “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him.”(Psalm 24:1)NLT. To him belong the heavens, the earth, and everything in it. This directly or indirectly translates into something like the earth we are living in belongs to God and all of us are stewards or caretakers if not aliens and tenants. This calls for you and me to commit to proper management and protection of this earth and its resources including the environment, which comprises of all living and non-living things occurring naturally. To a larger extent, human beings including me and you have failed on their respons

Instill friendship in your Children

Instill friendship in your Children

Dickson Tumuramye There is a saying that blood is thicker than water. As a result, we expect siblings to be more close to each other than non siblings or their friends. But not all siblings could be indeed close or friends with siblings. There is a possibility that you can have a close blood relationship with someone but between the two of you, you are rivals. A child (regardless of age) can also have a sibling who is his/her best friend. Over time, I have realized that it is not common. Best friends are rarely sisters and brothers. Friendship is formed as we get close to each other, an opportunity siblings share from childhood more than others. But it may not come easily except our parents can instill it in their children. I have been wondering why it's not common between the pe...

Dear Young Girls in School, don't allow anyone to deceive you and get you into permanent trouble. Life is not as easy as they make it sound. Lately, there are many mentors that have made it their business to confuse young girls on social media and get them out of school and take them into sex slavery in other countries. My recent Client told me that it all started with a friend request of Facebook. The man appeared so loving, kept sending her some money, and putting data on her phone, he would send her pornographic Videos and initiated her into masturbation. He kept telling her that she doesn't need to suffer with books because he already has enough money to take care of her for the rest of her life. We are talking about a 16year old girl that comes from a rich family but whose pare...
